Gordon Carter is a British-American artist specializing mainly in oil painting. He has been professionally active creating solo exhibitions and groups shows for over 25 years. His paintings are to be found in public and private collections across Europe and North America. He has also worked as a curator in a museum and as a free-lance curator since 2006. 

His work as an artist has been focused on society and the individual person's relationship to society. He has always demonstrated a belief and motivation that art is a powerful tool for social change; particularly he has been interested in the power of art to improve the quality of an individual's life experience. Teaching students the basics of art, and how a daily art practice can improve our lives has become an extension of his own art practice.
