Bogdan Aleksandrov is a Bulgarian born multi-disciplinary artist with a European reputation; his work is naturally cosmopolitan, avoiding regionalist tendencies, making him one of our favorite artists from the Balkan region. . His practice as an artist spans many mediums and forms as diverse as Abstract Acrylic and Oil painting, figurative work, large scale public sculptural works, video installation, objects, and happenings. He is especially noted for the immense scale of the his painting as demonstrated in the rather numerous number of his solo exhibitions; he often has gained attention in group showings with his ability to adapt his technique and scale to accommodate the dynamics of the event. He has exhibited widely in the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, Germany, China, The United States and many others.
Since 2000 he has also been the director of a gallery where he has consistently advocated a progressive program of social art directed toward social improvement, giving support to fresh artists presenting difficult and adventurous projects. He has curated numerous exhibitions both domestically and internationally, with an emphasis on promoting young artists.
His personal work as an artist is highly sought after for public and private collections, often with works leaving his studio directly to enter into collections.
